BMR: How has the market performed after lockdown?

CS: The market overall has picked up after Diwali, the business before it was clearing of the back log business or deliveries could not be completed. The analysis of new business generated would can be checked from orders received after March.

BMR: From your customer base how is the Ahmedabad market segregated. Direct consumers pick up the product or specifiers?

CS: My customer base is 50 -50.

BMR: What's your assessment of role of display gallery in retail business?

CS: The display gallery plays a very important role in the showroom, the touch and feel factor can only happen in display gallery.

BMR: What impact does the established brand have on your retail outlet?

CS: The building material sector is largely unbranded. However the demand for branded product is growing eg cars are sold on brands same will be the scenario in future for building materials. Talking about brands in building materials, if there is no awareness via channels or advertisement, brands cannot be made. The product has to me made into a brand followed by the company. General masses should be aware about the brand, a complete solution brand.

BMR: What business do you foresee in 2021 and what are your future plans for the business?

CS: To add to my view, I am in favour of complete solution either for bathrooms or kitchens or water solutions including modular kitchen. The best part is that every class of people are looking to upgrade their lifestyle. This in beneficial to everyone, there are some budget constraints at this point but it will be resolved in near future and Ahmedabad will grow very fast.
