Why Pidilite’s Construction Solutions Are Changing the Way India Builds, Explains Shashi Suvarna

Delhi witnessed a vibrant expo of architecture and construction called ACETECH which was about interiors, design and build. Held from December 4 to 7, the exhibition was buzzing with new ideas, innovation and a wide variety of advanced materials. Standing out among the exhibitors was Pidilite Industries, showcasing a wide spectrum of latest construction solutions.

In an exclusive interaction with Building Material Reporter, Mr. Shashi Suvarna, Head – Technical Solutions at Pidilite, spoke about the company’s innovative products and a whole new range of solutions while highlighting the latest trends in market. His insights offered a clear glimpse into how Pidilite is redefining the way India builds.

New Launches in Pidilite

When asked what can visitors expect to see at the Pidilite stall at ACETECH this year? Shashi responded by saying, "In our stall in ACETECH Delhi, we are showcasing our entire range and solutions for construction chemicals, which are normally used in any new construction as well as for repair of any existing structures."

In 2025, Pidilite Industries has focused its waterproofing and construction chemical advancements under the newly launched Pidilite Professional Solutions (PPS) vertical and Dr. Cipy Creative Floors which is the advanced flooring solutions, including specialised finishes like Cerrazzo and Cerrazzo CEM.

Talking about his new and recent launches showcased at the event, Shashi mentioned a wide variety of new products and solutions. He said, "Pidilite is a company which trusts and relies a lot in innovations. And we are always looking for new technologies, innovations. This time also, we are showcasing some of our new innovations in waterproofing. We are featuring a unique product which can be applied even when the concrete is wet."

He further added, "There’s also an entire range of terrazzo and flooring systems, wherein, you know, the architects, designers can design and select colours and patterns as per their choice. And we can give them seamless, beautiful, colourful floorings."

High-Performance Weatherproof Sealants

Pidilite has also come up with a range of weatherproof sealants like FeviSeal Weatherproof Pro which are specifically designed for UV resistance and extreme temperatures on glass, aluminum, concrete, and steel. Another one is M-Seal Ezyseal, a multipurpose elastomeric sealant suitable for roof, balcony, bathroom, and kitchen waterproofing, as well as fixing gaps in concrete or tiles.
M-Seal Liquid Sealant which is often used by plumbers for quick-setting, durable, and watertight sealing.

Speaking about the same, Shashi said, "We have our weatherproof sealants, which can withstand the severity of the climate and the weather. Apart from it, this time our new range of expansion joints have entered the picture. These are all modular expansion joints, which can be used for large expansion joints for your structural, also for heavy vehicular movements."

Evolving Consumer Expectations

The head of technical solutions even highlighted the shift in consumer demands over the years. He said, "Gone are the days where customers only demanded products. Today, customers demand solutions. And Pidilite has always been a company which provides them one stop solutions. So, that is probably what the shift is in todays times."

He further mentioned, "A product is as good as it is applied. So, customers also want us to be involved in the executions of this new, innovative, technical product. We as a company have invested a lot in the capabilities on executions of our products. We have in-house capabilities, as well as we can cater the huge pan-India market. We have some few selected, properly trained applicators, whom we call as partner applicators, which ensures that the material is properly used outside and there are no mishaps."

A Solution-Led, Service-First Approach

Mr. Shashi Suvarna also shed some light on the focus points for Pidilite in recent future. He said, "Focus point is service and one window wherein you get all the solutions. And we would like to ensure the customer is fully satisfied. In our industry, you know, the products are available. Technology is not something which is a privy. Technology is available for anybody to grasp it. But merely bringing technology doesn't solve the problem. We have to also ensure that it is properly used."

Responding to a question on how Pidilite ensures the right solutions and technical support for customers, he said, "So, we in Pidilite, we do invest a lot of time, energy and effort to increase our own capability. Our team, we spend a lot of time and effort in training also. When a representative of Pidilite visits a site or an office of an architect or a consultant or a designer, the customer can expect good solutions, right solutions and desired solutions for their project. Right from the basement to the rooftop and for the entire interior solution, Pidilite is always available."

Building with Sustainability in Focus

Sustainability is the need of the hour, and Pidilite is aligning its solutions to support energy-efficient, durable and environmentally responsible construction. Its Green Roof System, often branded under Dr. Fixit, is a specialised, multi-layered, and engineered waterproofing solution designed to convert building rooftops into sustainable, vegetated spaces. It acts as a holistic, "one-build" system that combines structural protection, insulation, and landscaping.

"In this new era of energy conservation, sustainability, we are also showcasing our existing range of green roof systems, wherein you can have insulation as well as waterproofing for your roofs and for your wall," he said.

Pidilite has also expanded its portfolio with a new brand, WalAce EIFS. Elaborating on this, Shashi said, “So, we are also showcasing here our entire range under the brand of WalAce, which is again a joint venture with a European company. And very proud to mention that we have executed some large projects and now would like to massify it for the benefit of the nation.”
