In keeping with its 'Grow & Impact' strategic plan, this acquisition represents a major step toward the French group's goal of establishing in India a benchmark technological platform in waterproofing solutions.

 

Earlier this year, this leading glass manufacturer and participant in the housing solutions industry announced its investment of Rs 3,400 crore in various businesses in Tamil Nadu.

 

This is a portion of the Rs 8,000 crore that Saint-Gobain has committed to spending in Tamil Nadu over the course of the next four to five years. This includes a number of brownfield and greenfield investments in the state's various manufacturing sectors.

The announcement was made after Saint-Gobain Global Board represented by Chairman Pierre-Andre de Chalendar, and CEO Benoit Bazin met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and state government officials.

 

A division of the French glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain, a pioneer in light and sustainable building worldwide, is Saint-Gobain India. It produces and supplies goods and services for the industrial and construction sectors.
