The spirit of Bright and Beautiful Diwali sweeps across India starting from the sacred city of Ayodhya. Ahead of the auspicious festival in 2025, a few pictures of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir have surfaced on social media showcasing its first floor.
Glimpse of the Grand Temple: The temple which was inaugurated with a Pran Pratishtha ceremony in January 2024 offered a glimpse of the grand Sri Ram Darbar. The official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the temple's trust Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra posted a series of images online. The photos featured pillars with beautiful Indian carvings, shots of the ceiling, and the insides of the temple.
Design of the First Floor: The first floor is specially designed to represent Lord Ram's royal court. It comprises five halls named Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap.
Divine Idols of Lord Ram and Family: Talking about raj darbar, Lord Ram's marble carved idol is present with Maa Sita, Lord Hanuman, and Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan. The idols are placed in a way that Lord Ram and Maa Sita are sitting on a golden throne while Lord Hanuman and Bharat are at their feet. On the other hand, Lord Lakshman and Shatrughan can be seen standing behind them.
Temple Architecture & Materials: Built under the guidance of chief architect Chandrakant Sompura, Ayodhya's Ram Mandir has been designed in Nagara style where the mandapas are decorated with shikharas. It stands on a total of 366 columns which have 16 idols each. Adorned with intricate carvings and scriptures, the temple has used 600,000 cubic feet of sandstone from Rajasthan.
Ayodhya Prepares for Deepotsav 2025: The premises of the sacred place can handle as many as 70,000 devotees. It includes dedicated areas for Lord Surya, Goddess Bhagwati, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Shiva. Meanwhile, Goddess Annapurna and Lord Hanuman temples are also present on the northern and southern parts of the temple.
The images were shared on October 13, a few days before Diwali which is the biggest festival of India. And just like every year, this year too the celebrations are going to be big with Ayodhya's Deepotsav. The festivities will be starting from October 18 till the day of Diwali which is October 20.
